Hey guys, this is my first post ever on here!

Just thought I would share the projects I have been working on while waiting for my baby boy to get here.

I don't like traditional baby crib sets and specialty ones online are way too expensive, so I made my own. I used McCalls pattern 5285.

I love the fabric you used!! I agree, store bought stuff is too expensive and its definitely not our style at all. We are making our own as well. It is really nice to see someone use more colors then just blue for boys and pink for girls. I think yours is very classy looking!!

Yup, the pattern includes all of those pieces. It also includes a pattern for a wall hanging and a window valance, I just didn't make those.

Thanks..I'm expecting my third baby in Sept, and have been toying with the idea of making her a bedding set.  (yep, just found out it's a girl!)  I hadn't looked for a pattern yet so I'm glad to know where to find one already!  BTW, beautiful job on the bedding!  I doubt mine would come out so well. Smiley

Congrats on the baby girl! I am waiting for my little man to show up and I hope it will be any day now!
And I am sure you will do just fine with the bedding. Mine is not perfect either, but that's what makes it so personal because I made it. You will have fun making it anyway.

That is beautiful, and of course they say B&W is easier for babyies to be able to see it.  Can I make a teeny suggestion though?  You might want to consider putting some more quilting (or tying) in your quilt.  There seems to be a lot of open space, which invites the batting to shift when laundered, and I'm sure by now you know or have heard how much you will have to wash things after the baby's used them!! HAHAHA!

Your crib set (and the rest of the room that you described) is visually stunning; but the biggest kudos is that newborns are stimulated best by black and white and bold shapes!!! AWESOME!!
