I received the most beautiful package from Knickertwist yesterday.  I was completely and utterly spoiled, and am in love with each and every lovingly crafted item.

Without further ado, the pictures:
All the goodies together, or as I like to call it, "Still Life with Swap Presents", including a wonderful tartan tea cozy and crocheted scarf.

Artifacts from Gellis Duncan included tiny vials of rue, grave dust, rose petals, lavender, black salt, and sage; an amulet containing an acorn, dried chestnut, and a thimble, and branches of wood.  (Knicker, what kinds of wood are these?  Do you happen to know?)

Gellis' journal (beautifully distressed and made of suede.)

A stunning shadow box of castle Leoch:

Some really amazing Scottish Breakfast tea, which I had a pot of this morning.  I wish I could have shared the pot with the whole swap group, because it was amazingly smooth and delicious; some compressed green tea, a wooden teaspoon, and my own tiny stone circle!

Detail shot of the beautiful crocheted "Love Knot" scarf to keep me warm in the costume shop:

And finally, a kilt pin, which is currently residing on the tartan tea cozy you saw in the first picture:

Knickertwist, I can't thank you enough.  Every single item is beautiful and thoughtful.  Each one has been given a special place in our home.  What a wonderful way to start off the swap gallery!

Whooo hooo! I'm so glad that none of it got busted up during delivery.

The two roots are comfrey (the black and twisty one) and liquorice (the one that looks like a twig). The round 'amulet' thing is a witch's stone or faerie stone. One story is that if you looked through one on a certain day of the year that you'd be able to see faeries.

Wonderful goodies Knickertwist!  So well thought out, too.  Makes me want to haul out my current book I'm reading from the series. I seem to have trouble sticking with it lately.

Great swappage!

I need to wait until Friday, payday, to send out... Embarrassed Greedy USPS...

Guess that means I have lots of time to make extras if I get my butt in gear!

I am such a bad swap partner. I have been super busy and have not taken picutres of my stuff. I got a lovely burgundy crochet shawl, a cool crocheted bookmark and a tote with punch embroidery on it, oh it has a Dragonfly on it. I swear I will take pictures tonight and post them.

I love, love my stuff. Thanks so much Coryjo!!!

I got my great package from theatregirl25 last night.  She did an amazing job.  First up here is everything together:

The beautiful embroidery of the Fraiser motto which will most likely end up on the wall in my crafting area:

I just realized I didn't get an individual picture of the outside of the decoupaged box.  It has the cover from Outlander and pages from the book all over it.  And here is the inside with two little herb jars, one with lavender.  I love this box!

And finally I have a new bookmark (yay!) with a little dragonfly charm and a new notebook that has handmade paper on the cover.  Notice that it is a medical journal  Cheesy  I cut off the bottom so you can't see the Dr.'s name and I'm at work right now and can't remember.  I'll update later cause I remember it was clever.

Calliel - I'm feeling bad because I want to recreate some of my stuff from the last swap, but then I can't figure out if it's cheating... Then I realize I can't reproduce one of them... Then I saw the stuff from the swap and I'm kicking myself for what I didn't think of... Then I realize how ginormous the large turned into and realize I need an idea for a small...
I think swap anxiety is pretty normal... Then again, the Sweet Pickles book Very Worried Walrus is one that really describes me!

Sending out on Friday/payday!

Prepare to wist!

I got the best package full of the sweetest items ever from jennieingram

Take a gander at the awesomeness of this package! Not only was everything beautifully made and thoughtfully put together, but there was a 3 page written description of each item and it's significance. Absolutely wonderful.

You can see the round soapstone burner and box of earth incense in this photo...

A detail shot of the most lovely pin cushion ever. I'm totally in love with it.

A beautiful pearl necklace and earrings and delicious lavender soap.

An awesome hemp bookmark with little charms, each with it's own significance.

Loose teas, citrus bath salts, hand written recipe (which I also adore!) and a 'dragonfly in amber' which will soon be hanging in my kitchen window (I'll try to post a better photo tomorrow)

Finally the most gorgeous apron ever. (Sorry for the wrinkles... I was losing light fast and didn't have time to press it) I wish you could all see this is person because it is meticulous in every way. It actually matches my ren fair costume which is blue and yellow! Everyone will be completely envious when they see it Smiley

Thank you thank you thank you  jennieingram for a fantabulous swap. I will treasure your items always Smiley

Finally here are some pics of the wonderful things that kawoosh_girl sent me - well, MOST of the things.  It seems that my 5 year stepdaughter has claimed the lovely etched wooden box for herself filled it with her "treasures" and has hidden it in her room.  Perhaps kawoosh_girl can post a pic of the box if she has one, I may be a while in the treasure hunt.  Honestly it is high praise from her to steal it for her treasures, she leaves presents at the fairy door in our hall and the fairies leave her things in return and they are priceless to her.  When she is at her moms she calls to check if the fairies have remembered her.  Anyway, here are pics of the rest of the lovely things:

First up some lovely Outlander themed cards

Next we have some booklets with quotes.  I have decided to use these for none other than quotes - I collect them

And (with all the other things minus the gorgeous box) is the very CHARMING chain.  It is brimming with many wonderful outlandish charms!

she included this legend explaining the charms
a card for black jack randall
highland hatchet
snow and ashes flake
the sow (a particular favorite of mine)
Jared's wine
claire's wolf
a coin for mr.willoughby
black onyx
green opal
tree of life
a (not-quite cherrywood but still...) snake
ellen's pearls
celtic knot
lallybroch
a dragonfly
clarie's jet rosary
ship's steering
sun
copper heart - love across time

And what is that on the far right you ask? I squealed with delight to find bookplates autographed by Diana Gabaldon herself!!!!!!!!!

Adso approves (that is not really her name but we can pretend...)

Thanks so much kawoosh_girl, everything is delightful!

My kitty, Shilo, had babies three weeks ago today.  The little one in the picture is the runt of the litter (which endears her to me) and we are calling her Eliza Dolittle - the rest of the little guys are being named after characters from lost (at my hubby's insistence - Hurley, Penny, Desmond and Sawyer.)  I don't know if we are going to be able to part with any of them to other homes.

I did photocopies for this one as well and kept the originals!
I'm guessing that if I keep doing the swaps I'll eventually have a complete set about the books!

It's here! It's here! It's here!

And it's excellent! It seems like I've been waiting so long -- slow postal service! But at last, last night I got to open this lovely package.

It was wrapped like this:

And it contained all this:

There was a white historical-style chemise - beautiful - I love it!

There was also this very pretty plaid bookmark - which is great because even though I have lots of bookmarks (ie, only the cheap freebies from the library, etc.), I am still usually reduced to using remote controls, other books, old receipts, spoons, etc. - no longer! Note also the top left corner where there is a leech magnet. he he he!

This amber earring and necklace set (which I am wearing right now!!). Crosswind noted that it reminded her of Claire's eyes - so true!

Now this is quite frankly too cool: it is a Mr Willoughby pin cushion! It is very well-sewn - I was so impressed! Plus it beats the heck out of my old tomato pincushion.

Thank you, Crosswind - everything is great, and I am so excited to make use of everything!

Yay! I'm so glad it finally arrived!  I am going to make myself some leech magnets too. If my husband had his way you would have also received a stuffed crocheted maggot, to be called Maggie (he's just not right - really.)  Maybe it is a little weird to send a stranger underwear but I couldn't help myself.  I am so glad you like everything.

Plus, here is the box that I made for Crosswind (pictures as requested). Cheesy

I woodburned a jewellery box in the style of the box from the end of A Breath of Snow and Ashes...

...and prettied up the inside a little

I checked the gallery and realized I posted in the thread...
I want my brain back...

So - I finally got around to uploading the pictures...

Bad picture of me - good picture of the Scots pearls! Grin

Fraser Plaid handspun! Grin

Fraser Whiskey bottle  Grin

Homemade bannocks -  Grin

................... ... which turned into Claire's experiment  Embarrassed

My husband told me not to say anything about the bannocks - but the experiment thing was too good to pass up... Sorry if I offended

Everything is so WONDERFUL!!!
I haven't tried any whiskey in the bottle yet...

Thank you so much for everything - I love it - I'm thinking a headband from the Fraser plaid handspun... but I'm still thinking~!

Oh noooooo! I can't believe it! I baked those things RIGHT before I wrapped them and put them in the box, and they're supposed to last forever! Sad I'm really sorry about that, how gross...

FINALLY I managed to find my camera and swap items in the midst of unpacking, so there will be pictures of selkie's awesome package TODAY!

It's okay - it was one of those inadvertent comical things since the food/mold experiments were in the book! Did I include them in your book or is that one I put aside for the future? I can't remember...

Okay! I finally got pictures of Selkie's gorgeous package, WHEW! Sorry it took so long--moving is a pain in the, er, posterior...

First, a Box Of Goodies! The box itself is really gorgeous, too. We have here silver bangles (one says "Believe" and the other has little lines on it), Claire and Jamie's knitted stockings--very cute, Book of Kells temporary tattoos (I can't bring myself to use them!), a Taurus embroidered patch (for Jamie), and her sweet card.

And the inside of the box...lucky me, it's full of GEMS!

And then...the gigantic Book. It's a notebook, filled with all different kinds of paper and lots of memorabilia from the books. I took pictures of 8 of the pages, but there are tons more!

Isn't it awesome?? Thanks so much, Selkie, and thanks to everyone else for being so patient while I got these photos together! Smiley

I'm so relieved that you like everything. I used the collages from the first swap, but added new things as appropriate. For the other collages, I had to stop myself... I made the collages and then did color photocopies, I figure this can be an add as you go project! I found a paperback copy of Drums, so I can work on that for the next round! I can't tell you how many trips I made to Staples to get this one done. The last straw was when they assembled the whole thing in the wrong order with some one of the envelopes backwards. That was when I realized the wisdom of working with color photocopies. I'm not usually one to complain, but I took it back and it turned out that there were at least 10 errors. I'm really glad they fixed it with no problem because it's my favorite staples!

The stockings - I'm such a perfectionist with knitting that the thought of intentionally dropping stitches etc made me crazy - so I used 4 different size needles to make it as close to 'beginner' knitting as I could (I've been knitting for 12+ years, including 3 years of grad school in every class.).

The penis syringe for the back cover (A Breath of Snow & Ashes) was in a Smithsonian at Mom's house - I was jumping up and down when I found it... She's only read the first book and the prison scene really turned her off to the series, but she understands the book thing and my art thing!

I understand about the temporary tattoos - I can never bring myself to use them either!

Here's to the next installation - I'm thinking the end of summer when we're all itching to get our hands on the new book! I don't suppose B&N would do a midnight party ala Harry Potter? I already told DH to take the day off from work as I'll be reading!
