I don't know if this happens to anyone but me or not. i want to make a dress out of a tshirt and a bandanna, sounds easy right? not. the tshirt is a really fresh one i bought online (that isn't sold any more) and I'm scared to cut it in fear that ill screw up and ruin what I'm doing. i bought the shirt when i was heavier its a  big 2x and i now wear a XL/L. i love the shirt so i want to make it a dress to wear this summer. i love this shirt and i don't want to screw it up. here's a pic of what i plan on doing made in paint...

i may do an x in the back. idk. id have to cut the shirt first. omg.
thanks for looking at my madness. hope this is in the right place/ makes sense. ~Ozzy

I've reconstructed many a piece of clothing, and it does take guts when you like something. You just need to jump in and do it though. You've got a better plan than I've ever made to be honest. I usually just close my eyes and cut.

I think this could be an interesting idea. I did something a little similar once, but not a dress. I cut the shirt just under the sleeves and used the bandanna to make straps, so it was like a tank top.

Think of it this way, if it doesn't work, you can re-reconstruct it.

to me, that looks like a good plan.  Very well thought out.  I'd say go for it.  don't forget to measure.

You could always try it first with a shirt you dont like so much first then you'll know what you're doing better with the good one!
