I made this after I saw something similar at a craft fair for way more than I could spend.  I just bought a wooden shadowbox frame from Michaels - and used a 1-inch spade drill bit to make the hole in the top (cut out a hole in the liner first), found a vintage wine image online to print out and glue onto the liner and started drinking.  Nice way to commemorate special bottles or dates - write a date or message on the cork before you pop it in.

I wrote an ehow article - http://www.ehow.com/how_4880534_keepsake-wine-cork-collectors-frame.html - describing the process in more depth - but it's pretty intuitive.

This is so cute!

I was trying to think of a good gift to give my friends who are getting married next month. They are super winos! And the girl's dad makes wine corks for a living! This would be a great gift to remind her of home and also something for the new couple to work on together! Thanks so much =D

That's such a cute idea! I've been hoarding all of my wine corks and wondering what to do with them. I just may give this a try myself. Smiley

Where is my mind?

Wow, I'm not a wine-drinker (perhaps someday), but this is a fantastic idea and a really really really nice execution!  Great job.  I bet it will be fun to watch it fill up.  Cheesy

This is an excellent idea.  I especially like your idea to write the date on important corks.
Thank you so much for sharing!

I always get excited when I see a new idea involving wine corks. I love this idea. Mine would only get to live in the box until I save up enough for the two big projects I want to make, but this is a great way to display them either way! I like the label you used for the background.

I'm a wino!  I'm drinking a glass of wine right now lol.  I am moving away from home with hubby since he is in the military and thinking of things to do to make our new place something I love and this is definitely going to be a part of our new space!  Thanks for the idea
