I haven't been doing much bookmaking lately, and to get back into it, I decided to make a little pocket journal para El manzana de mi ojo, de la semana. . . (the apple of my eye this week...)
I had a good roll of butcher paper that I planned to use.. but left it at home when I went to the studio to work. Instead of riding back up a hill, I stopped in the Antique Junkie, and bought a book entitled "Wild Animals I Have Known", for its lovely imagery and conveniently large margins!

the book is about 3.5x3.5 inches, covers made of matte board, covered in a beautiful batik (made by the recipient, he hated it but I knew I could transform it to something lovely). only 3 signatures, 32 pages. Coptic stitch binding... the inside coversheet (what's that called?) was printed by me from a sweet woodblock from India.

I'm happy! Sorry that the pics were taken on the mac photobooth, its the only way!

so those are a few samples of the pages; some have text, images, and blank pages as well. The story from the book I used was about a crow named silverspot and all the quirky things he did.
Now you make one =)

It looks great!  I could be wrong but I think the inside paper that you printed is called end paper.

I love the fabric on the outside!! Oh, and it's "La manzana de mi ojo..." (manzana is femenine, so the article has to be femenine too Tongue)

tee hee, i thought about the article thing, but decided on capital El because the apple of my eye is in fact a masculine man-type fellow... or at least deserves to be articled as such. =P
