Hey! Thanks so much for the inspiration and tutorial!! I've done a few of myself! I'm not conceited at all, (but I do have soooo many self portraits I can't count them all! Wink )

This is famous picture in my family, and I wanted the water color version to look like the actual picture.

Not very good, but it's still me Wink

My Favorite and First!!!

I did a really, really good one of my best friend, but I don't have a picture of it right now.

Those are fab audio-astrophysics!

It works!!

I made a few mistakes one of them being not getting complete coverage on spots, but overall I'm happy....at least I know what I did wrong and can be more careful next time.  I didn't have a lightbox, so I used a piece of glass on top of a lampshade that had an open top.  I painted this one as a test.  My daughter will be painting the real one so that this will be a collaboration from us for my mom's 75th Bday.  Smiley

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial!!!!

I don't have a single clue where to get masking liquid in my area so I went with a white crayon as a resist.

I love the way these all look.

I'm going to try it as soon as I'm done with my swaps.

I tried one too! It is me and my sister for my Mom for Mother's day. I just have to get it framed now. I used rubber cement because I couldn't get any masking fluid. It worked fine except took 2 coats and then I had to use an eraser to get it off.

Ooh, thanks for the tip!  I went to buy masking fluid to play with, and it was $13 (unfortunately out of my budget).  I may even have some rubber cement around here somewhere...

Wow, that's pricey Muria.  I got mine for $5 at PlazaArts.  Did you try a discount place like Pearl?

I went to one of the Joann's superstores.  I'm not sure there are any discount art supply stores around here, but knowing that I could get it for $5, I'll definitely do some more looking.

Of course, I *could* have had it for $6.50, if I'd brought along the 50% off coupon that they mailed me.  Roll Eyes

I'm going to my mom's grade 6 class on Friday to show them how to do this.  It's going to be a mother's day project, so the students had to bring pictures of themselves with their moms, which I have been converting all week.  This'll be fun!
