Hello everyone!
I finished up my first (quality) hand puppet this weekend, an I thought I'd show him off!
His name is Misto, and he's some kinda Raccoon!

This is him before I knit him a little sweater.

Look at his little teeth! they are felt and I stitched them in by hand on to his pallet that is also felt. He has foam and card circle mouth, which I found worked pretty well because it adds a little spring to his jaw.

His mask is a wool blend tweed I had left over from a coat I made and his body is this strange lumpy fleece that i got from a bargain bin.

In his faaancy hipster sweater! It took me about two hours to knit. I wanted it to be really loose and loopy, and i think it turned out well. My only complaint is it looks a liiiitle like a dress. Oh well, he rocks it.

His arms have pipe cleaners in them that make the positionable

he likes Matcha, but he gets hot chocolate when he comes to my house (note: i actually made a tiny hot chocolate for this shot, it was tasty)

and last but not least a little bit of the planning I went through making him.

As far as construction goes, he is mostly hand stiched except the outer seam on his body and arms. As far as puppets go, he was a fairly straight forward project, a good weekend craft.
thanks for reading!

He's super cool and very original! I loove the inside of his mouth and his bored eyes Smiley

This raccoon means business!
