I have been doing embroidery off and on for about 20 years now and have never ever been able to get the hang of French Knots. A few weeks ago, I finally kicked myself in the keester and went in search of of some good picture tutorials on French Knots and voila! I got it down FINALLY!

Here is the tutorial I used - Purl Bee

The entire cuff is hand sewn - I did all the embroidery, and the backing by hand. I used upholstery fabric for the embroidery side and brown silk for the inside.

Congrats on mastering what seems to amount to as the boogey-stitch to many embroiderers. The cuff itself has a really natural look to it, it's lovely.

Holy macaroni! Nice work! As a person who thinks French knots are a sign of the devil, you kick butt!
