I recently found this medal in my stuff. It means a lot to me and I wasn't sure what to do with it since it is quite heavy, but it is actually very comfortable. This is what I came up with:

The necklace

The Clasp

On me

Matching earrings

Any comments or suggestions about what else I could do with the other, slightly smaller medal I have, are more than welcome...

Thanks Grin

I really love this!  I like the beads you used and the clasp, they look great with the medal.  Smiley

What is the medal for?  What does it mean?  (if you don't mind me asking, of course)  Wink  I've never seen one like that.  Very cool!

The smaller one might be a good focal/centerpiece for a bracelet- but if it has just one ring at the top like the big one that might be hard to do.

Thank you all for your encouragement, I really appreciate it!  Kiss

It's actually a medal from my home town (we moved away when I was 2). James Bay is where several hydroelectric dams are located. I'm guessing this medal was given to the people who worked there while the dams were being built (I'd have to check with my Dad to be sure). LG2, at the bottom of the medal, is the name of the dam we were located at.

The smaller one does have only one ring at the top. I'm not sure what that one represents, I think it may be one of my grandfather's war medals. I'll probably make another necklace with it... but you're right, it would have looked great as a bracelet.

Take care.
