For the first time ever, I picked up a crochet hook and went "How the hell do I use this??"
With the amazing help of one fantastic Craftster by the name of planetjune, and her step-by-step instructions on http://www.planetjune.com/blog/amigurumi-help, plus a pattern from the Lion Brand website, I came up with this:

Stomping through my housemate's architecture project:

Stopping for a brief sip of tea:

A side view. Look at his wee tail!

Even though it was my first ever crochet project, I managed to not stuff up even once!! [Well.. Aside from a stitch that went missing when I was making the last ear.. But I blame Dylan for distracting me with his game.]

A billion more words of thanks to June for all her help, and for answering my unbelievably silly questions Tongue

YAY!! Awesome work! I'm impressed your first crochet project turned out so cute. (And you're welcome - I'm always happy to help and your questions weren't silly!)

Now what's your SECOND project going to be..? You do realise you'll never be able to stop at just one...  Wink

Your first amigurumi project looks better than my first, second, third... +  projects! Congratulations on your rampaging-yet-friendly elephant!

I have decided, actually. Smiley Dylan has requested a dinosaur.
Unfortunately I haven't really found any good dino patterns out there, so I'm likely to do this with no pattern.  Shocked Daunting!
