Im looking to make a bed for my dogs kennel,  it's going to have a removable cover that can be washed and then for the inside I want to make a pillow, but I need some kind of breathable fabric to make the pillow out of and im having trouble coming up with ideas, im also hoping to use something recycled, or from a thift store, rather than going out to the fabric store and buying new stuff..
thanks for any ideas you may have!!! Smiley

I'm a big fan of thrift store comforters for dog beds-they're cheap, some of them are pretty, and they can be washed. If you find a hotel-supply store (the kind that sells stuff from hotel renos) they're sturdy and *meant* to be washed. Get a couple, fold them to fit, tie-tack them (like tying a quilt), and you're good to go. Cheap, easy, fast, washable-just pop the tie tacks before they go in the wash, then redo them when they come out.

I foster a lot, and I have several like this around at any given time. If a foster seems particularly fond of one, I'll send it with them to their new home.
