I do the DIY posts at the ModCloth blog, ModLife, and with prom season coming up, we decided it was time for a DIY prom dress post and contest.

Here's the dress I made: (I was going for a teen vogue look for prom Smiley let me know what you guys think!)

The front:

The back:

And the before picture!:

Hopefully you think the after pictures are better than the before pictures!

On Monday we're having "The Perfect Prom Contest" where anyone can enter to win this prom dress, and ModCloth accessories to complete the look. All they'll have to do is comment on the blog post with their dream date, prom theme, song to dance to, and the accessories they want to win.

So here's my example:

Prom Date: Jim Halpert

Theme: Princesses and Unicorns!

Song: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic

That's a bouncey castle in the background. And Scantonicity II was the prom band!

I'm such a dork!

Absolutely gorgeous prom dress! The colours you put together are so fresh and modern I would never have guessed it was originally a bridesmaid dress. You did a great job.

Love the revamp of the bridesmaid dress into the promdress. I am wondering if you had enough material left over to make a wrap. a bolero, or a shrug incase it is a little cool in the limo or the place where the prom is held. No matter what it is a lovely modern prom dress.  Grin
