I love seeing all the clever and great-looking felt foods that people come up with. I don't often get the urge (or is that the patience?) to make them myself, but as a LOTR fan I just had to do this one.

A nice leaf-wrapped package...

Lembas! Yesss!
I've been wanting to get some; I heard you can hike a whole day on one of these.

Wait! What's this?

PIPPIN!! I know it was you!

He's a regular bottomless pit!

Hobbits...can't live with 'em, can't feed 'em to the Balrog...

Beautiful, I really like the elven sparkles on the leaves.  Just the leaf would make a cute lunch bag Grin

We're heavy into geekhood around here, so I recognized it as a leaf wrapping for lembas bread from the thumbnail. Good job! I agree, that would make a fun lunch carrier, too Smiley

Great job! Loved it!

I laughed so hard over the Balrog comment I got a bit chocked....that's what I get for eating a carrot and looking at craftster at the same time!!

Thanks everyone! I'm stoked that some of you recognized it from the thumbnail--that means I did it right!

Also thanks for the compliments on the leaf--I actually made this a couple months ago, but was never really satisfied with it and sort of put it away, chalking it up as a semi-failure. Then the other day I took it out again and was inspired to add more embroidery on the leaf--and voila, it all came together! Now it's one of my favorites.

Hehe, I thought "leaf purse!" at the thumbnail (guess I'm not as geeky as I thought), but it's so cute. Love the "bite".

That's adorable!  I like the leaf all wrapped up with the lembas, but I love the leaf all spread out!  So pretty!

Fantastic Grin.

Although you should keep a closer eye on your hobbits... they'll eat you out of house and home if you aren't careful.

This is wicked awesome! I've always wanted Lembas, I'm so lazy when it comes to cooking. Glad to see I'm not the only fan of it.

This turned out really awesome. What a unique take on the felt food trend. I would love to have a whole set of fantastical food to play with...I mean, for my nieces and nephews to play with, yeah, that's it. Great job!

Thank you all for such nice comments!

This turned out really awesome. What a unique take on the felt food trend.

You know, I didn't realized until now that I've actually done felt food before...I guess I just have this thing for fannish-inspired foods!

I would love to learn how you made the Leaf!

The designs on the upper side of the leaf are gold fabric paint (I freehanded the veins), and then I brushed on metallic brown acrylic paint to give it extra dimension. Then I picked out several of the veins in thread, stitching between the dots of paint so that the thread mostly showed on the underside of the leaf. It was a lot of fun to do.

I just did a little happy dance in my chair when I saw this felt-made piece of adorableness....and considering the fact that it's a Friday morning in the library, I got a few strange looks! ;-)
