There have been very few good French movies lately. It's quite sad cause French cinema from the 50's to the 70's is quite amazing, but it has been worse and worse since then. There are still a couple of good movies here and there, but most are either stupid -and not funny- comedies or pseudo-intelectual self-centered dramas...

Les choristes is nice... but a bit too nice...

I couldn't have said it better! There are a few good surprises, though: "Je vous trouve trs beau", "La crise" or even "Ne le dis personne"...

Last French movie I've went to see in theatre was... I can't even remember... must have been quite some time!
Last French movie I've watched completly on TV was 'Les femmes de l'ombre' (which was very good! but a bit violent). I easily zap when I don't like the movies...

I want to go to see 'OSS117' and 'In the electric mist' (does it even count as a French movie?)

Last one I saw in theatres was La Moustache, but I really love old ones, French New Wave, the Pagnol ones. I recently watched Le vieil homme et l'enfant and I loved it.

Oh, and I got something in Trader Joe's called apple crushers. It looks similar to pom-potes. Has anyone tried both?

In the electric mist looked SO BAD in the previews...just check out the name, seriously. XD But apparently critics liked it? :/
As for the "stupid -and not funny- comedies" I certainly hope Asterix et Obelix - Mission Cleopatre is not included in that! It was a stupid and totally funny comedy XD

I like penguins, stars, rainbows and blue.
If your project has any of these, don't be surprised to see me post in it! Cheesy

I am totally in love with Edouard Baer and his "scribe" monologue!

i remember i was so looking forward to the Asterix movie with G.Depardieu as Obelix (duh) and R.Benigni as a Roman (also duh) in it... but then i heard it was awful and so didn't watch it.  was that the same one?  i love the comix so much (most of what i learned about bad puns in French was from Asterix) that i didn't want to mess it up by seeing the movie.
