I had some leftover fabric from sewing Bible covers for my son and I. (His was denim, mine was the floral/polka dot.) The bag is a little bigger than I'd wanted, but it's a good size for carrying books. I did the pockets from another bit of fabric I had left over from my first bag. I do wish I'd boxed the corners a little more so the bottom would be a bit wider and it would have taken up some of the height. Also I put the button hole on the wrong side - on the back instead of the front so the bag leans a little forward when my stuff is in it, which doesn't matter when I'm using it. I really wanted pockets all around, but darn it if I ran out of fabric. Fooey! (Really, the inspiration of the bag came from the little monster who stepped on my first bag during my son's ballgame Saturday and got muddy shoe prints on it. It came off but I don't want a repeat next game so I'll be bringing this one.Smiley

Very cute!  I wouldn't have thought to use the denim as the base and the print as the accent.  Good job.
