Hey all - I've now completed a few swaps and suddenly today the idea of a Tofu themed swap jumped into my head. I'm a vegetarian and tofu holds a special place in my heart:) I was wondering if anyone else thinks it would be a good idea? I've never organised a swap before but would be willing to try if someone else would be willing to help me out? Smiley

Tofu ideas are good - I made myself a little tofu pin cushion ages ago and when any of my crafty friends come over they always comment on it (in fact some of my non crafty friends have noticed it's awesome-ness also!

That is super cute.

What if it was a vegetarian/vegan swap?

That might be fun too...

Fun idea! My first swap was a vegan/vegetarian swap... I wasn't quite a vegetarian I was...oh what do they call it. Flexitarian or something... I only ate poultry & fish. After that swap I became a vegetarian!!! I think it would be awesome to do either a tofu swap or vegan/vegetarian swap round 2! Keep me posted!!!

We could quite easily make it a vegan/vegetarian swap to give people more scope for crafting:) Tofu has a special place in my heart personally but there's more to being vegan/vegetarian than tofu;)

I found it quite hard becoming a vegetarian - it was a VERY long road - I grew up on a farm and we would eat meat, quite literally, three times a day! I gave up the red meat first but I didn't find that too hard but giving up chicken was VERY hard but I read a few articles that made me feel not too good about eating chicken and that made it easier!!!

My poor parents still can't cope with the vegetarian thing....they are always in a panic when I go to visit "What will we feed her!" although they are getting better:)

I get "well, I don't know what you'll eat, but..." When I was invited over for Easter. I said, you just cook & let me worry about what I will eat. lol. Like they invited an alien to dinner.

Maybe we could swap a parental guideline list for feeding your vegetarian/vegan kids!

I have been a vegetarian for about 10 years now..I still get the What will she eat question and looks when I come for holidays.

I am having a really hard time raising my daughter to be veggie. Everyone thinks she needs to eat meat to be healthy. It's crazy.

I have a friend who is raising her two kids vegetarian and people say similar things to her! I think that just rude!

One of my worst moments was a senior college in my office telling me it "wasn't natural" for people to not eat meat, whilst drinking a huge bottle of coke!!!! Hello - because drinking coke is TOTALLY natural! NOT!!!
