This is the coolest freaking couch I've ever seen.  I wasn't sure about all this button business because button crafts are usually a little too cutesy for me, but I stand corrected.  Thanks to your couch I now know that buttons can be funky and unique.  Great job! Grin

This is pure genius!  It totally goes with the scratching post, I mean couch, and is so distinctive!  And what a beautiful way to show off all those cool buttons. Grin

I love this idea!  Of course, my couch that would look great with this treatment is the one the cat hasn't scratched, and the old couch that is cat-scratched - oooh, it would be REALLY busy with buttons, too!  Hmm...may have to do this anyway.

Frackin' gorgeous!  Pleeeeease resist the urge to fill in.  I think that the blank space sets off the buttons and adds to their beauty.  I love it and, like everyone, the last photo of Oreo.  I'd blow that up and hang it framed on the wall!  Brilliant all round.

So, I was thinking...  I wonder if it would be easier or fussier to make a little mini-slipcover-type piece, work the buttons from a comfortable position on the couch, and then stitch the piece on with the upholstery needle.  I am reminded that I have a chair, buried in my garage full of good intentions, that was once beautiful and now beyond shabby, but that I refuse to get rid of.  This would be a perfect treatment for it.  I'm so glad that you shared this.

ALSO, this is part of what I love about craftsters, still willing to actually SEW buttons rather than take the glue gun route.  Good for you, good for us  Smiley
