Is that how you spin flax?  With water?  I have so much to learn.

I haven't posted in Fiber Friday in awhile, but I love everyone's yarns this week. I especially love, love, LOVE Texas Sunset! Sooo pretty!

I haven't spun in awhile, but I just got some new rovings, so hopefully I'll have time to spin after my tests are done :\

It is one of the ways and it depends on what type of flax you are working with and how you want the end product to look like.  I also spin hemp 'wet'.

It's not actually soaking wet, I just dip my fingers in water to smooth the spun yarn.

Do you get calluses when spinning these dryer fibers?

Thanks! That's really sweet. Smiley

MLF - Thanks lady! I love it, it's easy to learn when you don't want to stop. lol

There's a sparkly green/turquoise further up that I love. I'll have to go back and see whose it was and what it was called.

The yarn from the thrums is...man, that must have been one hell of a project.
