so my sister bought a Build-a-bear Hello Kitty a while ago, and refused to buy it clothes. 2 main reasons
#1 They cost more than most of the clothes we own that are people sized... &
#2 I can make perfectly good clothes for her.

Anyway, I figured that i would put it in Clothing recon, because the hoodie is made from a shirt i got when i was like 6 and the skirt is the bottom of a pant leg of an old pair of jeans.

I was experimenting with the serger that I am borrowing from the school, so I made her a rainbow stripey hoodie and a Skirt.

Pictures galore ^_^

That is so cute! And, it makes me feel way less weird for making a cowgirl outfit for my Build-A-Bear puppy!

Wait? They have Hello Kitty at build-a-bear?! Awesome!

I love the hoodie.  Cheesy  Great idea!

You know what would be cool? If they sold patterns for build-a-bear. It could get kids interested in sewing.

lol this hello kitty needs some panties and shoes, just because i say she does lol and glad i inspired someone.
my inspiration was a question.. "What can a make randomly with a serger??" lol

that's not weird lol. although my next project is probably going to be the generic Hello Kitty Outfit lol

They only have it in hawaii now i think.. They discontinued it here, my sister got one of the last ones lol
And yes build-a-bear clothing patterns would be cool, although a kid handsewing it would take them like a week lol
And you could probably just get like patterns for dresses/shirts/pants for like 12-24 month olds (depending on the size of your animal) and just sew that up lol

I think if the clothes were pre-cut and ready to assemble, maybe even the use of snaps and/or velcro would good for kids.
But i'm wondering if there are patterns for premature babies out there? Those clothes would seem like they'd be around the right size and could easily be altered to fit the elephant, hello kitty or Cookie monster (I got one of the last one's of that one like 4 yrs ago) even.
I really want to make a pirate costume for my HK, Might have to search around for a small pattern or just wing it.  Wink

I do love her skirt though.

I went to the Mall of America last night and they had HK at build-a-bear. I may have to go get her one of these days.  Cheesy They also had some really cute HK accessories. That store just makes me die of cuteness.
