It is even more beautiful in person, with the light playing off the AB coating on the beads and their reflection in the mirror.

Were the roots harder to glue?

I actually thought it was easier!

I used E-6000. When I finished the tree, I turned it upside down and put the glue in thick globs just where the roots are thickest (most of the roots aren't glued down at all)- at the base of the tree and at the very beginnings of the roots. Then I just smacked it down where I wanted it to be, and then- this is the key, I've found- I used masking tape all around the part of the roots that don't have glue on them so that the tree stays very securely in place while it dries. When it's all dry (give it plenty of time to set- I leave mine overnight at least) you can just peel off the tape, wipe off the smudges from the mirror, and tah-dah! Best of all, because E-6000 dries really really clear and there's so much stuff being reflected in the mirror, you can't see the glue unless you look really really hard.

With rocks, the tree needs more glue in more places in order to stay secure all the way around the rock, plus the texture of the rock is completely different from the texture of the glue, so the glue's more visible and you also have to use more glue in order to fill in all the holes in the rough texture of the rock. It's so much easier with the mirror. I promise.
