I asked my kiddos what they wanted to wear for Easter, since I was fresh out of ideas. My son decided he wanted camo pants and a hobbit shirt. Sure why not, says I, that'll be simple. So here he is complete with coonskin cap:

And my daughter wanted a skirt that 'went way up' when she spins. So I did a simple pink polkadot circle skirt. I decided instead of a regular hem, I'd have a bit of fun with the serger. And what better way to accessorize than with striped tights:

and a detail of the serged hem with decrative silk threads:

They both love their outfits, so that makes me happy!
Thanks for looking!!

That skirt is adorable and the hem looks just beautiful.  Your kids look so cute!  Now I want a hobbit shirt.

Thank you all for the great compliments! They are cool kids, and I love making things so they are different (no pride there, huh).

It's great that you let your kids wear whatever the hell they want, instead of dressing them in BabyGap.   I really like the shape of the skirt too. so congrats on your child rearing and sewing abilities.

My youngest used to love striped tights too. I think that's a fase they're going through. A Pippi Longstocking/princess-fase maybe?

Anyway..it turned out great I think. Heck, I'd wear those outfits!
