HI:)

very long time no post or sew:(
but i have gathered the time and patience to finally go into the fabric closet and make something:)
this was a really annoying dress to make and im glad its over =)

It's made out of orange Sari fabric, some brown ribbon/elastic sort of thing for the straps, and chocolate satin for the waistband.
front

back

lining, since the fabric is so see through

woooooo~

close up of the bodice part, excuse the boobiness Embarrassed

so what do you think? Huh

p.s. IM NOT PREGNANT =(

Maxi dresses make everyone look pregnant so don't feel bad about that. haha

This is pretty much exactly what I've spent all morning searching for through Google. I want one!  Grin

Okay, I actually said "oooh!" when I saw the back.  Out loud.  I'm at work!

You did a fantastic job, and it really doesn't make you look pregnant, at all.  I love the colors on you, and the shape is fantastic.  The straps are far and away my favorite part.  Good job!

Did you use a pattern?  I too have been looking to make a dress EXACTLY like this, except with jersey knit, maybe.  Smiley

thank you all for the comments  Grin

mmm as for making this dress it was very simple: a huge rectangle of fabric that is ruffled and sewn to two chest triangular-y pieces sewn to a small back rectangle. the straps were the hardest and most time consuming part since they kept ripping out so i had to handstitch them as well as machine sew =_=. the sash is just sewn on and the lining is sewn into the seam that connects the bodice to the skirt

no, i dont like patterns too much Tongue unless im making something really fancy that needs a lot of steps Tongue
