I am in love with the new site layout.  If I were the type to do something like that, I'd totally snag the background img and use it on my website.

Meanwhile, I was reading through the thread about peoples' concerns for transitioning from one craft to another.  The big one seemed to be soap.  You can still cover soaps, just like with felting, only with macrame.  Since macrame is more about the technique than the materials, I'd probably opt for a soft cotton rather than twine, but it could be really cool.  You could also use macrame for soap on a rope.  Make some complex knotwork motifs and embed them in your soaps.  I think that would be really fun!

And the loopy looms?  I think you could still post them here if you threw a couple of knots in there somehow.  I bet it would be easy.

We mods  have known this was coming for a little while now, so I've had some time to really think about how to combine macrame and my numerous other crafts.  If anyone needs any tips or hints, or just wants to throw around some ideas, let me know. Cheesy

The crisp pages of a book of classic literature-the warmth of a bright sunny day-the aroma of coffee brewing in the morning-the security of a lover's hand-the nuzzling of a purring kitty cat - These are the things that I love. These are the things that inspire me. http://www.brittnikayne.etsy.com

ok ok, so first off........BUT WAIT, I LOVE MY CRAFTSTER AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, and i hate that stupid avatar that was picked for me. ewe Sad  i dont want to call it macrame.net, i'm not a macramer, i'm a crafter.  i dont do macrame, and i dont particularly like anything i've ever seen macrame....perhaps you'll change my mind. my other question has to be....when did popularity have anything to do with outr crafting? whats so wrong with having a large macrame section on craftster?
so of course i'll stay an active member, i love it being a part of my life, how could i not.  i'm just disappointed,   please oh please be an april fools joke??

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.
