But can we open the challenge up to include similar thingos like those kinder surprise containers? It just seems to make sense.

As long as it's a simple, plastic novelty egg, this is fine.  Just craft to keep plastic eggs out of the garbage!
Aren't Kinder eggs chocolate with a toy in them?
I don't know because they are band from sale in the U.S. Stupid gov't thinks people are too stupid and will eat them and choke on the toy. (I think any one that stupid should be out of the gene pool anyway)

As long as they are all the simple plastic novelty eggs that open up like the ones pictures, it's ok if they are multiple different sizes in one project. Smiley

Question: what will be the largest size you are permitting. I ask because there are the large ones that come with Ferrero Rocher in them and they open just like the small plastic ones. So I am looking for a definite parameter of size.
Thanks

I think any size it fine as long as they are simple and plastic and open up like the ones pictured. We anticipate most people will use the common sized ones but other sizes are ok.

I went to the thrift store today (we don't do Easter, so we don't have the eggs at our house, but once my daughter is older I know we'll probably have tons hanging out), and they were selling the eggs for 5 cents a piece, but after I kept piling them in the cart, the lady told me just to fill a bag for 50 cents. So now, I really have to come up with something, or else I'm going to have a hundred eggs taking up space with the other crafts I have the best of intentions of doing.

We dont celebrate easter either. Mr. Zeddies was rather perplexed when I informed him that we were going searching at the local thrift shop for eggs today.

You ladies must be some really imaginative crafters! The only thing I can think of is stuffing them with candy and toys (which is what they're for already) or making shakers but I keep seeing ya'll saying you have tons of ideas. I can't wait to see the results!  Grin

fake eggs could be smashed like real eggshells and made into mosaics.

egg-halves could also be turned into flowers, toad houses, doll furniture, etc.
they could be used as cookie cutters.

they could be attached to the outside of a sphere, open sides outwards, to make an ornamental mod whatsit, i don't remember but i have seen one made with plastic cups...  maybe it was a lamp, too?

i am going to make a different kind of lamp so if you like any of these ideas, go for it.

Totally wrote one of my ideas. Guess I wasn't as orignal as I thought, back to the drawing board!
I've never done a challenge before, but this one seems really, well.... challenging!
