If you're anything like me, you end up with dozens of plastic eggs each spring.  I'm fairly certain it would be a sin to throw colorful plastic eggs away, so I'm always thinking, "I should make something with all of these!"  Well, now is your chance!  This challenge is for you to make something new and clever out of one or more of those silly plastic eggs.  The egg(s) should be the focal point of your project, but other components can be used to create your entry.

There are many types of decorative plastic eggs available, but let's stick with this type of delightfully simple eggs for the challenge.

Here are just a few ideas where to get the supplies, if you don't already have them in your house.  Be creative!  After all, you're Macramers Craftsters! Smiley

  • Ask coworkers, family or friends if they'll be disposing of any
  • Thrifting
  • Yard saling
  • Swap

Rescue those eggs that otherwise might end up in landfills!  Have fun!

Rules:

  • Post your craft during the period of May 1 - May 5 2009. No sooner. No later. On May 1 there will be a special folder created for entries.
  • Voting will happen from May 6 - May 12 2009.
  • Each participant can enter ONE project. (Although your entry can have multiple components to it.)

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original and has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, then just give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, I'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog

And this prize (winner can receive prize in U.S. or non-U.S.):

Any one item from one of Craftster's online shops!

I'm pretty sure we don't have those plastic eggs in Australia. Well, I have never seen them anyway!  Undecided

Now I live in China and we certainly don't have them here.  Grin

I actually have a whole box of these that I keep reusing from year to year, they even moved from New Mexico to Kansas with us (had my husband seen them they may not have made it)! I'm going to have to see if I can't come up with something....

Now this is a good challenge.  I LOVE eggs!  I just got some really fun plastic easter eggs for this year.  Now I'll just have to figure out what to craft with them after easter is over Smiley Smiley

Actually these eggs are available in Spotlight stores in Australia, three sizes. They are certainly at my local stores. I also saw them last year in Tivity, a local discount store.
