I claim mcook72677 for clothes for her daughter.
This is my second claim, 1 sent, 0 received.
I am 31, currently live in Colorado and desperately want to move back home to DC. Or a tropical island in the west Pacific, that would work too. I work as a research meteorologist, and in my spare time I help with technical stuff for community theater (sets, costumes, props) and have a community garden plot. My two cats generously allow me to live in their apartment in exchange for feeding and petting them as well as paying rent.
In terms of crafting, I sew about 95% of my clothes and do a little craft sewing on the side. Plus the theater costumes, lots of sewing there. I also like to wet felt - not the kind of felting that involves yarn, but the kind that involves loose fibers, soap, water, and violence. I enjoy dyeing both fibers and fabric, and dabble in batik, shibori, discharge, and other aspects of dyeing. There are a few other crafts that I participate in lightly, and I also love to cook and eat asian food, except for sushi.
I mostly wear autumn colors - reds, oranges, yellows, warm greens, and browns. Blues and purples are nice, but are not colors that I can wear, and I only wear black when working a theater show. I do not like pink, pastels, or anything girly. My apartment is extremely neutral with beige carpet and white walls, and has gigantic windows. I like things that are reused, thrifted, and repurposed.
Crafts
wall art - any medium. I love themes of trees, cats, swamps and carnivorous plants, and nature stuff in general. Can't have too much art! - Thanks sheepBlue!
hand knit socks - women's size 9, thick and chunky fiber is great!
window decorations - stained glass or sheer/translucent paintings/art to hang in my massive windows
funky wall clock - reconned would be great!
pillowcases - both bed pillow type or throw pillow (12x12, 14x14, or 18x18 all good). My sofa is electric tangerine, and any kind of color is good for bed pillows.
black tees - printed, painted, or otherwise decorated, that I can wear when doing tech work for plays. Theater techie or stage manager type jokes/quotes would be amusing (I can find some for you or you can check google or cafepress), or broader themes such as trees, squid/octopus/cuttlefish, Farscape. I'd also love one with "if animal trapped call 410-844-6286" a la the Wire.
sweatshirts, similar to the tees above but any color.
anything inspired by my wists
handkerchiefs - any fabric, any decoration, preferably functional
fabric grocery/shopping bags
crafty goodness that celebrates Maryland or DC - cards, photos, art, shirts, anything!
Craft Supplies
vintage lace or other interesting fabric trims
notions such as zippers, buttons, snaps, rivets, velcro, grommets
feltable fiber (non-superwash wool)
holey cashmere sweaters for fulling
a book on screen printing - I have a kit but haven't tried it yet
dover type stencil or design books
commercial socks suitable for sock animals
books or patterns for sewing soft toys
scraps of interesting wool or fuzzy yarns that I can incorporate into felt projects
Extras
UTZ brand potato chips - little snack size bags - salt and pepper, salt and vinegar, crab, bbq, carolina bbq, or grandma utz

I claim ehinders for a steampunk seahorse brooch and a steampunk octopus necklace.
This is my 6th claim (6 sent, 5 received) and I am in the U.S. Here's a mini-bio with more info than you'll ever want.
I'm 33 and live in the lovely state of Michigan with my wonderful husband and our beagle, Snort. Snort's idea of the good life is eating, sleeping and eating her own poo. She's my fur-baby, and while we don't treat her like a human child, she is a member of our family.
I own an asphalt company along with my Dad and work about 70-80 hours a week in the summer, so I basically have no life, including crafting, from May through the end of October.
I'm a flittering crafter, I like to try everything once and the things I really enjoy, I keep up with. My current favorites are making jewelry, knitting and papercrafts, though I'm trying to get back into watercolors and really need to start using my pottery wheel again.
I like sarcastic wit and jokes that make you think, and I seem to be experiencing a renewed love for the '80s. Favorite tv show of all time is The Office and favorite movies are Real Genius (with a very young Val Kilmer) and the original Willy Wonka (c'mon, a movie all about candy!) Favorite colors are ocean-y colors (greens & blues & browns) and jewel tones (ruby, emerald, sapphire, etc.). I’m also digging the black/white/grey combos lately.
I love anything to do with nature and waterfalls are my favorite places to check out. And my favorite food in the whole world is donuts. Best flavor explosion - a fresh, hot, plain cake donut, straight from the oven with a glass of apple cider. I dislike mean people, people who are stupid by choice, soy sauce, political campaigns, and having religion preached to me without an invitation.
Please feel free to look over my wists as I like everything on there, it’s updated, and wisty surprises are fun, fun, fun!!! Thank you so, so much to anyone who chooses me!
CRAFTED ITEMS
KNIT/CROCHET/YARN/NEEDLEWORK
NEW - felted house(s)
like these (I'd love to get a set eventually) -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23657895
knit socks – ankle or regular is fine (women’s size 8.5 or 9)
- thanks, onr!
amigurumi or needle-felted or felt hippopotamus
- thanks, bsonlytoots!
amigurumi or needle-felted or felt cookie monster
(actually, any of the old-school sesame street characters would be great and I’ve even got free patterns listed on my wist!)
amigurumi or needle-felted or felt pelican
art yarn
Knit shrug/wrap
- on the off-chance that someone is just itchin’ to do one, I’ve got a few listed on my wist. I especially love this one, especially if the yarn is a little soft -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22967042
handknit squares for a Craftster blanket
– I have to double-check the sizes I’ve already gotten, but I think they were 4” square. Only request is that the yarn you use is machine washable.
Felted beads
– pretty flexible on colors and sizes, I’d like to have a stash of these for art projects.
Funny, sarcastic cross stitches or embroideries (I can frame 'em)
- I've got a couple on my wist, but feel free to just do something you think I'd like.
Embroidered pillowcases
- For our master bedroom, colors are blues and greens. Some type of sea animals or theme would be awesome.
SEWN
NEW - throw pillow cover
- inspired by this, but any plant/tree/bird fabric is cool -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14541713
NEW - set of bookends
- like these -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23258284
some type of overnight bag
that has a number of pockets to hold misc. toiletries and stuff (I’ve seen some Amy Butler ones, like the weekender bag, that are cute, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be that involved or fancy unless you feel like it – basic tote with interior pockets is fine by me. Oh, and it doesn't have to be fancy fabric, either.)
Placemats
(set of 2, 4 or 6) - though I’m loving the log cabin look, anything would be sweet. My kitchen colors are sage green and burgundy
Napkins - (matching or coordinating sets of 2, 4 or 6) – kitchen colors are sage green and burgundy
- thanks, frosty772!
Pair of Strawberry Shortcake, Super Mario, Smurfs or PacMan long pajama pants or pajama shorts
(any type of fabric is fine, PM for measurements but I wear a Nick and Nora’s size large if that helps)
Jacket/Sweater/Sweatshirt for Snort
– I'd prefer something that has a neck band and belly wrap, rather than something I have to put her legs through. I can get you whatever measurements you need for this, but just for reference she's a 40lb beagle.
ART/PAPERCRAFTS
NEW - an altered pet photo
inspired by these -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22438548
your artwork
, whatever medium you like – you can check my wist for inspiration (you’ll see I love a lot of whimsical pieces), but I’ll love anything that isn’t political, religious or deal with death. And I do have ample counter top display room, so it doesn't have to be a wall hanging piece of artwork.
inchies or ACEOs
Fun To Do lists
- I love making To Do lists and would love sarcastic, funny, witty or pretty To Do List pads. (Or you can just paper punch a hole in them and tie them with a pretty ribbon.) Very flexible on this one, just make something you think I would like. And I'd prefer smaller to larger - probably nothing larger than half of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.
SILKSCREEN/IRON-ONS/ETC.
silkscreened t-shirt with the phrase neat-o mosquito (feel free to add a cool image if you have one) – women’s L or XL, 40” bust. I'm fine with the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom t-shirts that Walmart sells for about $4.50 in the men's section - size Large, please.
- thanks, bsonlytoots!
t-shirt like this one
that errka made for me last year that I have worn and washed so much the graphic is falling apart! – roughly a women’s large or XL, 40” bust. I'm fine with the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom t-shirts that Walmart sells for about $4.50 in the men's section - size Large, please.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=155224.msg1545936#msg1545936
JEWELRY/ACCESSORIES
NEW - A pendant with poppies
- Here's an example of one I like, but I'm very flexible -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22670829
NEW - An embroidered brooch
- I really like this one -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=21301783
NEW - Upcycled glass bottle earrings
-
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10066232
NEW - fabric brooch
- something inspired by this -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19011566
or this -
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20510998
- - Thanks A2K, and I'll leave it up here in case someone wants to make me another one!

I claim AsphaltQueen for some wisty goodness!
This is my first claim this round.
BRB with my list.
I am a 25 year old mom of 3 living in WA, United States (about an hour from Seattle). I am a recent college graduate (accounting). My family is very much a baseball family! I love to spoil my kids, as you can see much of my wists are kid things. I love butterflies and dragonflies, reading, photography, and various other random things. My favorite color is bright royal blue. I also really like chocolate brown and teal together. Any questions, just pm me! Oh yeah, my only aversions are smoke and anything inappropriate around kids or things my little ones will destroy (knick knack type things).
And now for the list (biggest wishes in
bold
):
Crafts
Hair barettes from my two girls. I love the Disney princess ribbon ones on my wist.
Personalized bow holders for my girls
Hand made paper
