These are really great. I like that you went over each hole twice: it gives it a chunky look that really suits the project. My only suggestion would be adding a piece of felt on the back (between the yarn and magnet) to hide the stitching.

But really, excellent job and great idea! I've been really into plastic-grid video game inspired projects lately, and this is a great idea.

So now I feel compelled to make a bunch of random video game sprites that are meticulously cut to the proper shape so they can have refrigerator adventures -- I'm thinking Megaman and Tetris XD Awesome job!
