Every so often I take on a project that is a little bit crazy.  This is one of those.

I started out raiding my stash for all of my various pinks and made a slew of fabric yo-yos with my groovy Clover yo-yo maker. 

Then I drafted up a very basic a-line sundress pattern and hand stitched a slew of yo-yos together into a dress for my adorable niece.

Here's the results:







And a few with the dress just laid out so you can see the construction:





And a detail of a few of the yo-yos:



Time:  Countless hours over the last month
Yo-yos:  250
Happy niece:  Priceless.

beautiful!!!!  child and dress you have made something that sould be cherished for always! I have thought about doing this but was put off from making all the yo-yos. GREAT JOB!!!

That is sooooo adorable!! I have one niece, for sure, who would look so cute in a dress like that. Alas, a seamstress I am not Wink. When your niece outgrows her dress, you should snag it back and turn it into a pillow . . .
