Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone knew any good bagel recipes?  Just for standard, plain bagels.  I miss them so much and if you can even find them in Berlin, they're expensive!  I tried a few I found online but none of them turned out quite right and one even made them taste more like pretzels haha.

I saw this guest on Julia Child several years ago.  The bagels always intrigued me, but I never got farther than making her delicious chopped liver spread:

I know this is a little old, but I stumbled on it looking for a recipe for blueberry bagels. (I know, not a traditional flavor but it was requested and has now been taken up as a challenge.)
I use the recipe from the Julia Child's episode, it is wonderful; I only make one modification to it, I allow a 1/4 rise between shaping and boiling usually 10-20 minutes.  Also, its nice because you can watch the episode online and I am very visual.
