i don't know if it's universal or just in canada, but when I was working at Fabricland, we had people asking us about the trademarked stuff (Disney etc) and I was told that Walmart has exclusive rights to a lot of those types of fabrics!!  So if you're looking for something with a wellknown trademark (outside of the sewing world, obviously Alexander Henry means tons to some but nothing to people who don't sew) you'll have your best chance at walmart!!

on-topic of the dresses - is the contrast waist thing added on top, or is it bodice - waist - skirt all separate pieces?

OMG, the black and pink polka dotted ruffle dress is too cute and sassy! Looks like a prefect match for your adorable daughter.
