I ordered my fabric yesterday!  And yes, it is cheaper than actually going to the quilt shop for me.  I would have left the quilt shop with WAAYYY more fabric than I would use for this swap.  (There is really no such thing as unneeded fabric, is there!)

I'm planning to go play at the fabric store this week, going to drag a non crafty friend and make her go with me usually doing that keeps me within whatever budget I set lol.  But the shop near by is huge so I'm probably making a mistake in taking her with me lol.

I don't know how often you all play online in online fabric stores, but there is an awesome resource for finding fabric stores online called http://www.fabshophop.com  I did the march fabric shop hop (just follow the bunny) and it was super fun, I found tons of smaller and specialized shops that I know I never would have found otherwise.  They have a shop hop planned for April already too and they have awesome prizes to boot Smiley

ok this sounds pretty great! So let me get this totally straight...we are making strip blocks that are 12.5 inches right? we have to use a total of 5 strips in each block? So we do all the sewing and cutting to make a finished 12.5...I hope I am getting this right Smiley

12.5" wide combined from strips and the overall length is the original width of the fabric (which is 44/45 typically)  But i think you've got it right Smiley

this is a really stinky 'its dark outside and I didn't use the flash' picture of a set of strips, we're making 5 of these and getting 5 sets in return Smiley

This is one of the sets from the quilt I'm working on making for my bed that is made from random fabrics pulled out of a box that I have (not ones I'm using in this swap lol)

My question is along those sames lines... can we stagger the strips? Can the strips be different widths within the 12.5"?

I think different widths is fine, what is everyone else's opinions about having staggering strips throughout the length?  I'm pretty easy as far as details go and want you to have fun so the more fun you have putting the strips together the better.  But definitely think it opens up room for discussion between us all Smiley
