Well, it turns out there is something to laugh about after all.  I sent this scarf to the grandmother of a friend in PA as a surprise for both of them. When I didn't hear anything about their having received it, I e-mailed the friend asking if she got the package.  She said no but I gave it a few more days because of the bad weather they had been having.  And as I mentioned before, there was the possibilty that her pet goats had found it first and eaten it.

When it still didn't arrive, I put a tracer on the package and sent her a pic of the scarf so she could see what I had meant for her grandmother to have.  she wrote back:

She GOT that package! LOL!!! (I'm sorry but I'm laughing my ass off)

I didnt see the package when it came, but I've seen the scarf hanging on the coat rack! I asked her like 2 weeks ago where she got it and she told me that her friend Dorothy from Kansas sent it to her for her birthday! She was all proud. I SHOULD have put two and two together and realized this was your handiwork - I'm so sorry!

And it is beautiful! I'm going to have to take a better look at it when I get home - and let grandma know that a wonderful person from Tennessee sent it!

The goats did nibble the return address and grandma really does have a friend Dorothy in Kansas.  We all cracked up for a week.  I told my friend not to tell her grandma that it wasn't Dorothy and she didn't.

I'm so glad that she got it.  I love the story.  People with alzheimer's can be so cute and funny sometimes. Smiley

I like it. I think the plaid and the flower pattern you chose look quite nice togerther. I wish I had one.  Smiley

P.S. I think it's really cool that you gave it to someone with alzheimer's.

my first thought:

A scarf for a cat?

My second thought:

A skirt and a blouse?  That's a lot of fabric for a cat's scarf!

So I clicked on the post and now I'm laughing at myself while admiring your handiwork.  Soft fabric, plaid, and a cat-- that says comfort to me!  Lovely work, and nice job with the applique- that's a lot of curves and corners to stitch!

My daughter loves cats and I like the shape of your cat. Is there any chance that I can get that Shape?
