Toronto's 2009 Fall Fashion week pictures are all over and I've fallen in love with Canadian bad boy Evan Biddell's scarves in his new collection. Big and chunky, great for Canadian winters! http://www.blogto.com/toronto_fashion_week/2009/03/in_photos_evan_biddell_fall_2009/

I'd love to make one myself.... I can knit a basic stitch so that's no problem. But where would I find yarn that thick?  Huh Anyone have any ideas? I can just imagine the size of needles I am going to need for a project like this.  Grin

I don't knit, but maybe you could combine many strands of yarn to make thicker yarn.

Those are some neat scarves
you could use whole roving and maybe give it a bit of a spin. I'd imagine using table legs to knit that or something Grin

You might try knitting with strips or tubes of fabric to get a similar chunky look.

Hmm! Thank you... Really good suggestions! I've yet to work with roving, but there's no reason not to try. Also I have some old fake fur I could sew into tubes and give it a test.

...now to arm myself with a pair of table legs!  Grin
