hey kids, been lurking for a while, but this is my first actual post. I finally finished my Mike Tyson's Punchout from SpriteStitch and I need something new! I found a copy of the Ghostbusters logo

http://mikelightman.com/up/ghostbusters_logo.png

and want to do that one next, but I've got no idea where to start. I tried these instructions, but they don't work for me. How can I add a grid over the image? I'm can follow photoshop directions!

thanks a lot,
Mike

Have you tried using one of those little free pattern converter pages?  I don't know if they will help you get exactly what you want in the pattern, but they are something to play with.  I'm awful at the photoshop image meathod, so I prefer the plug and play places that do most of the pattern creating work for me.
http://www.patternsforyou.com/en/pattern_maker.html Seems to work best for me.

http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/ I haven't used this one as much, and I think you pick your own colors for this one, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

There are a couple more free spots listed in this thread that might help you out as well:

Best of luck- I hope it turns out great.  Ghostbusters was one of my favorite movies growing up.   Grin

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

My pleasure!  I was so thrilled when I found those sites that will convert a pattern online free of charge that I love to spread the joy.

I've been going CRAZY with myphotostitch.com. So much more reliable than Dark Lilac used to be. Right now, I'm doing the Firefox logo for a friend, but I've been finding some snarky designs from BustedTees & Tshirt Hell and turning them into charts. I guess there's an upside to being unemployed!

Glad to see you've been enjoying the site!  I'd love to see the Firefox logo when you're done stitching it Smiley

Free online photo -> cross stitch pattern maker.  Check it out at http://www.myphotostitch.com/  (think of it as a replacement for the beloved, but now gone, Dark Lilac)
