I'm sure I was like alot of people around x-mas time: little money and even less time.
I had the tv on HGTV or other like show while I was getting ready for work. I wasn't paying very much attention but happen to look up when the program showed a pretty little bird feeder made from a teacup and saucer.
I thought that was the perfect thing for my Mother-in-law and Grandmother-in-law.
Only thing was....I had 3 days before x-mas.
I stopped at the first thrift store I came to. Unfortunately, they didn't have any pretty little teacups. But they did have lots of matching green dishware.
Well, sometimes I find myself lacking in the patience department. There was no way I could see myself traveling over 3 counties to look for teacups that may not exist. So I grabbed 2 each of plates, saucers, coffee mugs, and bowls. I got some dowels and wooden plaque things from Hobby Lobby. I enlisted my Dad and my brother to make the posts. I glued everything together with Gorilla Glue.
This is the Mother-in-law's. The other set is identical. I know this may be kinda weird, but I intended them to be the same because I didn't want any arguing or hurt feelings in case one thought the other's was nicer. I guess that's just from growing up in a large family.
Btw, they both loved their gifts! And they said they've already seen birds visiting the feeders!
