Before I begin I have a few breif warnings and then I will elaborate.

1. I am an ameture craftswoman
   (a) This is my first bag
   (b) This is my first aplique attempt
2. I have BDD (body dismorphic disorder)
   (a) It's not easy to admit, it's really embarrassing really
   (b) I can't just "get over it"

Ok! So. I was having one of the worst BDD attacks of all time, panicing really, someone suggested that I draw a picture of what I perceive myself to actually look like (to see how ridiculous it is) but it didn't work it made it 10x worse.

So I turned to craftster to see what people had been making that reflected positive body images. 
I found this link

So I went and purchased some fabric and started on the first decent idea that floated by and this is what I ended up with.

It's a Squishy Tummy Grocery Tote Cheesy.
It's an aplique of a stuffed disembodied tummy, because a full belly is a happy belly. 
I left it a little bit abstract so it wouldn't be all "HEY LOOK GUYS THERE IS A STOMACHE ON MY BAG ISN'T THAT RAD?!" I still wanted it to look a bit classy

That's my little sister for size comparison, and my little dog, and my destroyed entranceway because my ferret reaks the havok.

The lining! I think I did ok maybe

I tried to do some topstitching for the aplique for a bellybutton and little pudgelines, but it didn't really show up on the cotton.  I'll put a pink button on later maybe if I deem it nessecary by then.

very cool  bag, glad you found that thread on crafster too.

i like that the tummy applique is abstract, from far away people will just think it's a pocket Wink

Love your idea! It came out great! That'd be cool to go shopping for healthy stuff, like, filling your tummy with fruits Smiley
