I know that most of you are familiar with the one-seam convertible dress (I was first introduced to it by Rostitchery's tut). I made some reversible ones for my bridesmaids last summer, and I've been thinking of another way to upgrade the basic design...

The waistband is elastic, covered with the fabric I used for the dress.

...and now for the fun part! I put a pocket on the straps right where the boobs would be, so that I can insert foam cups! That way, there's no embarrassing pointy-ness when the summer breezes blow AND there's a little more support.

This version is just as comfortable as the original! Smiley

The dress is fine, but the "pocket" idea is Great!! Grin  Will you be posting a tutorial (or did I miss the link?)  I've only ever put pockets w/zips into waistbands for my graddaughter, so she can carry a key and ID w/o needing a purse (she's 10)

The original tutorial is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104089.0;topicseen. Adding the pockets is easy: cut out two extra squares of fabric (a little less than the width of the strap) and then sew it onto the inside of your strap where it will be sewn into the waistband. Smiley
I used about three and a half yards of a cotton-jersey blend fabric.

Wow!  Thanks for this idea!

I've seen all these awesome infinity dresses and I've decided I need to make one myself for going to the theatre next weekend.  The foam cups are a great idea!  Then I won't need a bra(I have little boobies).
