OH MY GOD ITS FINALLY DONE! i have always wanted to attempt to make a quilt for my bed. it took me about 2-3 months to do but i am so happy it is finished. it was also my first attempt at free motion quilting. i was ready to rip my hair out when i first started and thought i made the wrong decision but i got better as i went. my poor sewing machine though, i didnt know if it would be able to handle it but after two broken needles, we got through! so here are the pics, let me know what you think!! i also sewed two pillow cases that matched with the quilt.

That's an awesome concept for those fabrics!  I'm always wondering what to do with my kooky graphic prints, but now I've got some ideas.

That's a gorgeous quilt!  The fabrics are a lot of fun and it looks really nice.  I especially love the footprints in the sand.  Great job!

WOW, what a great job you did.  I've been quilting for about 35 years and have never attempted free motion, I admire you.

I'm obsessed with all things tropical and beachy...and even though I live 20 minutes from the beach, I've still started making my room into a tropical paradise.  I love everything about this quilt and I think it looks even better on the bed!!  And if you can bear to expose it to the elements, this would make an amazing quilt to take to the beach for a day of relaxing!!

Very cool! I love the little footprints in the sand for the main fabric, and the pillowcases are great, too.  God work!
