I think a little piece of the left side tore off (it was in the package) but I don't think it detracts at all from the overall look!

Is the medallion at the made of the molding paste as well, or is it a separate piece you added on?

I've been looking locally for that iron oxide paint, but no one has it. I'm going to have to breakdown and buy some online.

the medallion is metal, glued on and then painted over a bit.

could you get someone to order the paint in for you? my local art store orders stuff in for me all the time, though she had this in stock for the workshop this time. i love it cause i'm too broke to afford the sheets of mica!

parisgirl, i'm glad you like it! that's a layer of kroma cackle over gesso, then a wash of pthalo green and then a layer of the golden interference green. (the interference paints are also VERY cool! i'm really loving golden lately!) i'm glad the clay piece made it safe! that's an old clip on earring that i fell in love with! and yeah, loves2experiment is right, the paint-free side is the back!

and i'm glad you like yours too lunakitten! i love the wallpaper i used on that one, it's got great texture.
here's a clearer picture -

knickertwist, the ouija house is amazing! i love it!

playswithneedles, um, wow! i love how that house is pulled together, every detail is perfect for it! the repetition of shapes is very cool.

could you just stop being so amazing, even just for a little while? it's getting a little bit ridiculous! Wink
i love the houses you've done for this round, but i love everything that you do, so that was expected! Roll Eyes

lmcbride, such a cute house! i love how the accents pop, the 3D windows and such. very cool. i love how you did the look of shingles, i planned to do that this round, cause i love how it looks, but i got carried away!

karin, sooo beautiful! i love the colour scheme, even though i usually love brights, it's just so serene and lovely! i like the roof line, how it's got the gable (is that what that's called?), and the heart accents are so pretty. what's the round thing on the right hand side, next to the pudgy little bird?

Ooo, so many pretty houses tonight!

Really, I have been so pleased with the quality of houses everyone's been sending out. Standing ovation for you all!

I know! It would be so hard to pick a favourite, they've all been so fantastic!

I love looking through the photos in this gallery Grin

Wow, lots of wonderful houses! I'm completely in love with your turquoise house, playswithneedles! So many cool details, and the photo of the woman is beautiful.

Oh I love the heart embelishments on this one! Where did you find those? They are darling!

Thank you! Both the ornamental heart and the heart made of birch bark (such a cool idea!) come from a Swedish craft store chain called Panduro. They have tons of great stuff, check out their english site here: http://www.pandurohobby.co.uk/pan/

Thanks! The thing on the right is a nice and chunky wooden button, one of the many buttons I've inherited from my grandma. I love using them in my projects!

Playswithneedles, I love the peaceful fun nature of that house, and I adore the metal embellishment up top!

You are welcome, stunnedbannana - I'm so glad you like it!

On a related note, I also received a lovely house today from alteredmommy. I'm still at work so unable to post a pic, but I will when I get home!

Here is my casa fornida de la fiesta from alteredmommy. I love the happy colors and the roof. I also included a pic of the postcard she sent - it's a print of a 1935 original.

And here is the back. I like the way the button in the center of the flower looks like an eye!

And because I've received all my round 3 houses, here is a photo of my lovely neighborhood.

Thanks everyone for a fun swap and a great neighborhood. It went way too fast  Undecided
