I wanted to work on a leather belt, but everything I was trying to do with it did not work out, and by the time I realized that it was not working out the piece of leather that I had cut out was no longer big enough for my waist.

So what to do with this long strip of 1.5 inch leather... I know make cuff braclets for my kids, my nephew and niece.

So here are the finished products.

The first two bracelts are ones that I made for my son and nephew.  I carved the skull (An Urban Threads pattern) and added a ruby eye to each.

I then embellished them by carving crossed bones for my son, and stamping stars for my newphew (he skateboards).

For my daughter and niece I once again carved the skulls with ruby eyes

And then added cherries for my niece and hearts for my daughter.

You can see with this picture that I gave them snap closures.

I was really happy how these came out (especially since these were my first attempts).  I will look into making more of these in the future, possibly with a buckle closure instead of the snaps (that way when they grow the braclets will still fit.

Thanks for all the comments.

I have sinced bought some thinner leather, with straps and buckles.  I am going to work on some new ones for all the family, but it will have to wait until I get back to the US.  Which will not be until Oct.

Thanks Weezie.

I pick up all my leather crafting, including the snaps at Tandy Leather company.  I have one in town (Vegas) but they have an online site as well.

I also have seen the snaps I use at Joanns and Michaels in the Notions sections.

I will certainly post the new cuffs after they are done.
