Hey everyone!  I thought I would share my latest creation, my penguin monk embroidery.  I'm really proud of him, this was my first real embroidery project!

I think the tree is my absolute favorite part.  I love the way the little root curls around the hillside.

Do you think I need to fill in the black parts on the penguin?  I kind of like the openness of the way it looks now, but it's still kind of nagging me.

Also, I have the pattern for this up on my blog, if anyone is interested.  My boyfriend graciously put the pattern into photoshop and made it all nice and pretty.  Let me know what you guys think!

Very nice! The tree by far is the eye catcher and I barely notice the penguin so yes I would fill him in. It would balance out the tree nicely I think. Love the blossoms!

I think this is great.
Perhaps you could colour tint the penguin so he stood out a bit more but didn't disturb the overall serenity of the piece..?

Coooool! I adore penguins and get overly excited at cherry blossoms, this is one incredible piece!

I think you could definitely fill in the penguin without disturbing its overall outcome, I'd do it.

this is gorgeous!!!! is it your own design?

i think you should fill in the penguin with some wee litlte satin stitches Wink  I think with crayon tinting you are supposed to color before you stitch so that when you iron the fabric to set the color it doesn't get in the stitches
