I got my first page!
It's from Slappersire and is amazing Tongue

My theme was a quote by Albert Einstein:
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious"

It's got a slab of slate on it!

On the back she's written:
Neutrons they are very small
They have no charge
They have no mass
And do no interact at all
The eArth is just a silly ball
To them through which
They simply pass

I looked it up online - it's from a poem - a physics poem!
Neutrinos
                  by John Updike
Neutrinos: they are very small
They have no charge; they have no mass;
they do not interact at all.
The Earth is just a silly ball
to them, through which they simply pass
like dustmaids down a drafty hall
or photons through a sheet of glass.
They snub the most exquisite gas,
ignore the most substantial wall,
cold shoulder steel and sounding brass,
insult the stallion in his stall,
and, scorning barriers of class,
infiltrate you and me. Like tall
and painless guillotines they fall
down through our heads into the grass.
At night, they enter at Nepal
and pierce the lover and his lass
from underneath the bed. You call
it wonderful; I call it crass.

I really like it  -thankyou Tongue

I've received from critter and calluna!!

from critter! this sweet little castle Smiley

this beautiful page full of wings! i love the poem, which reads:

"Many Wings"
Many wings are beating
into the wind
to their adventure
Earth, sea, be kind!

Dream-plumed, for voyaging
one after one,
Into star weather,
Out past the sun.

Wind thrilled between worlds,
spreads their desire...
be kind to many wings,
air, water, fire.

love them!!!  thanks ladies!

Hurrah!  I'm so glad you liked it, I've only ever swapped chunky pages with friends before.

You also gave me the opportunity to dig into my pile of science/Physics stuff and use one of my favourite poems, so thankyou!  The little drawing on the slate is a representation of the quark structure of a neutron and the background is tracks left behind after a collision event in (I think) LINAC at CERN.  But it might be a different accelerator.

this one completely amazed me

Another hurrah!  I actually found the black and white photos in the attic of my new house when I cleared it up for flooring.  They're wonderful, I even have a set of wedding ones.   Smiley

I've received one page so far and it's beautiful.  I'll post it later on today when I find my camera.  I'm really looking forward to all my other pages turning up!

I apologize to my partners.  Cry I am going to post some teasers thou! Just so you know I DO have them finished and ready to be sent out. Thank you everyone for your patience.

Ooh, those teasers look pretty sweet!  Surgery of any kind is a bummer, but if you need it, you need it..... good you're on the mend!

I have received from heini!  Here is my supersweet chunky all the way from Finland.  Smiley

It's got the coolest origami butterfly.

Here is part of the back.  It shows the cute little butterfly thingy and you can see overall what the rest of it looks like too.  I just cropped it because it had some personal info and I don't have the technical skills to blank it out. Roll Eyes  BUT as you can plainly see, this is a wonderful chunky page!

Thank you so much heini, I love my page. Smiley

And, sadly, that's it for me in this swap - I believe all of the sending and receiving has been done between me and my partners.  I'm kinda sad now...

I received my last page from Heini yesterday, so I'm all finished for this swap too...

I just love this, the edges look so antiqued and  look at all those fibers and ribbon  Smiley

Isn't that a great stamp on the back, it's a metallic gold, but these scans don't do the page justice. Thanks so much Heini!
