my friend's b-day is coming up and we have this little inside joke w/ something, and i wanted to make her some things that are kinda like chinese-looking and stuff. i am already making her the chinese foor magnets, any other ideas? thanks!  Grin

Buy a cheap paper lantern and paint it.  I esp like to paint them with glow in the dark paint, cos it'll glow really bright after you turn the light off!

oooh, a glow in the dark lantern- it'd look like the moon, esp. if you had some glow in the dark stars around it!

there's also the origami mobile (japanese, but aren't paper lanterns, too?)or cocktail umbrella mobile (i think they're made in china...)

You could always fold a bunch of lucky stars and put them in a nice jar or make earrings out of them

i podged a picture frame with fortunes from chinese fortune cookies.  it turned out well.  of course you need a LOT of fortunes (i worked at a chinese restaurant)

 Cheesy What about those cat toys that someone posted on here the shape of  an egg roll and fortune cookie etc,, make one of those and put a keychain on it. so its like a mini chinese food soft sculpture keychain. wadda ya think?
