I'm going to do it the cheater way and use a tutorial booklet I bought from Hobby Lobby called Fabuouls faces, I'm making Lillian, but I'm olny using the instructions for a base. I know I'm a god-awful cheater and it's not going to look as cool, but it's just for until I trust myself enough to do one of the tutorials (like Noah's) Accually, I'm totally going to take a stab at a small child-like BJD, then gift it to whatever person he/she/it turns out to look like. If anyone would like to educate me on how to make a wig I would be forever grateful....I need help with making the hat-like part on this tute

It's just a crocheted circle-cap. You crochet in a circle and add more or less stitches on following rows, depending what shape the head is that it needs to fit.
Try it against the doll's head as you're going along, so you can alter it if needs be.

I saw that tute the other day. It looks fabulous, I'm going to try it myself soon - let us know how you get on  Cheesy
