no, i just stitched through the cross-stitch fabric on the top layer.
it got a little tricky toward the bottom, though!  Cheesy

very nice, i stitched on a pocket pot holder once and loved the experience.  i've seen those cross stitchy pot holders befoer and never thought about embroidering on them, was it tricky to embroider on the aida fabric???

it's the second time i've stitched on aida -- it's nice, because i don't need a hoop, but my stitches don't always come out as even and smooth as i'd like.
the trickiest part of this project, was getting the parts at the pattern near the bottom of the potholder -- i kept having to turn it inside out. Smiley
