A Light in the Attic

There's a light on in the attic.
Through the house is dark and shuttered,
I can see a flickerin' flutter,
and i know what it's about.
There's a light on in the attic.
I can see it from outside,
And I know you're on the inside...lookin' out.

This was the very first poetry book I ever received as a child. In fact, it was a birthday present from my older sister. I fell in love with Shel Silverstein at that point.

Ever since then, I've always wanted to make something Silverstein-inspired... Since I could never think of something to have tattooed on my body, polymer clay was my next best bet.

Other than the eggshell inside, hemp cord and acrylics.. It's entirely made out of polymer clay.

I love it!  Silverstein's poems always make me smile.  You've made a very accurate depiction of the book cover, as soon as I saw the finished product I went "Hey, haven't I seen that face on a book..?"  Great job!

Very nice!  Is there any chance that you could put up larger versions of the images before voting takes place?  I want people to be able to see the detail! Smiley

Oops, totally forgot to throw in a "click for larger images" in there. *face palm* Hopefully it's better now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
