This is great!  I was just wondering about black and white to back the back of my daughters I spy quilt I'm making her.  This turned out beautiful and I think I will now go ahead with my black and white idea.  Thank you for sharing this, I have a hard time 'seeing' in my head what something will look like...now I have a beautiful picture.

Wow! Thanks for all the positive comments!

To those who were hesitant to quilt, this is a great way to start (just sewing fat quarters together). I just learned how to quilt last fall (after I put the quilt top together), and I took a class at my local Creative Sewing Center. That gave me all the confidence (and information) I needed. I strongly recommend finding out what resources are in your area if you're potentially interested in quilting.

I'm not a huge fan of black and white, but I do think that it makes picking out fabrics for a quilt easy, if you find that difficult to do. It's also classic and neutral, which is helpful in decorating a room.
