I received an awedome parcel from Echo_brook during the week
Firstly the group shot - an Owlasaur - not sure it's histrorically acurate - but this is what emerged!
After wranggling with the Owlasaur for a short while I was able to break off some of the more threatening parts
teeth, spikes, eyes and ears!
I found the teeth and toe talons were actually nice earrings, and the tail spikes were clay leaves. The eyes turned out to be clay dragonflies!
Next I was albe to pull off the end of it's tail -which became a lovely necklace - (so cute and wire tree perfect!)
Next i pried off the feet and the stump of the tail:
The feet were thrift store found ceramic mugs
and the tail stump a cute tin with palm fronds.
Above is the protective wrapping the owlasaur was in-before it jumped out of teh box!
Then the head came off!!! and the gigantic wings!
Echo created a wood grain like kniited (
) scarf and beanie for me -which is handy as we're going into winter!
and they are each applicaed with oak leaves and acorns!
Lastly I was able to tackle the main part of the Beastie:
Isn't it beautiful!!!
She hand embroidered the tree on - it has such beautiful texture adn i LOVE it!!!
Close up of the Beasties belly:
It's lilke the tree has tenticles adn little lighter purple suckers
Thankyou so much Echo I love everything. There was no need to dream up sucha scary beastie -I love every part
ps - Was at the Folk Festival here last weekend and I spied a huge puppet that i thought i would share with you:
He was interesting to converse with -he had a really rough barky textured voice
