Oh my goodness! Jazzturtle those are all amazing! I absolutely love all the yarn (and batts!!!) today!  Shocked

I spun up my first real even yarn and somehow managed to get it all tangled in a huge knot. I think my cat may be sabotaging my spinning efforts, so no pictures from me today.

I love everything so far -- i think it's Bats Friday, but it makes me really look forward to next week, too, when some of them will be done up!

Yummy!

I've got a question. I'm always watching your Threads on Friday and I am always wondering (and I must say I am not a wool person, onky thing I can do is knit socks, which is really boring, I enever spun or knit anything else) - what are you doing with your spun yarn? Most of you don't seem to make great amounts of one color scheme, so are you mixing them when you're knitting or are you actually just displaying them in a glass-door-cupboard and drooling whenever you see the great colors? Wink
I'm sorry if that's dumb to ask, I'm just really curious and maybe if some of you have posted projects they made with their own wool you could send me a link to your postings?

I enjoy your colors and mixed materials very very much!

All of you are making me drool!  jazzturtle- all your yarns are amazing, as usual.  I love seeing all the batts, makes me want a drum carder.  Everything is just fantastic.

Here's mine for the week:

All the yarn except for the one on the top right are a mix of wool/mohair/llama that I got last year at a local fiber fair.  The top right is a mix of superwash wool, alpaca, mohair and soy silk.  The bottom right has a ton of sparkle mixed in and is plied with a nylon single and the bottom left is super super bulky, the thin spots are about worsted weight.  Top left is a thick and thin single with sparkle.

I didn't have time to spin this week, but I predrafted some fiber, and it's currently laying in messy rings on my floor :\ But hopefully I'll have time this weekend!

We pile it up and roll round in it cackling!

Actually, we're doing pretty much what people do with all yarn - knitting, crocheting & weaving with it. I guess the stuff that baffles you most is the crazy art yarns? Because there are thousands of projects out there for the more standard yarns.

Well...they can just be art - put them in a glass bowl and look at them. They work great as chunky knit scarves and hats - or just as a trim on the end of a plain stocking stitch hat or scarf. Or the really chunky, short stuff can be used as necklaces.

What have I missed?

My new years resolution was to knit with my handspun more.  I usually make small project from it.  I've even gifted yarn to some fiber loving friends who appreciate handspun.

Here is my second Navajo ply.  Its 100% alpaca.

Jazzturtle - your yarns are always amazing, but with the new wheel...there are no words.  I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
