Oooh, wow! Desmond is doing wonders!

I'm on a real T-rex kick at the minute - and I've also finally got to the stage where I  can produce a nice chunky yarn again! Yay! So...

This is "Solid Gold, Easy Action". It's a blended top. My supplier had no more info than "a blend of South-American lustre wools". With that non-specific description, I wasn't sure, but this really is some of the nicest fibre I've ever spun with. It's got a wee but more crimp and bounce compared with BFL, but it's quite similar. It also takes colour really well.

And this is "Spaceball Ricochet". The fibre is merino/soya/bamboo so it's really shiny!

Whoa, Jazz, that's some serious spinnage. Nice work. Kathleenalice, I love your colors.

My newest obsession is with samplers, and tiny things that all come together to form a big thing. I've been making these Petit Fours from every fiber in my arsenal:

and I've only got one of these "Fiber palettes" so far, but I'm planning to make more as soon as my dyeing frenzy is over:

Why is it that you always have the most great ideas and the gumption to get them done... when the supplies you need are still in the mail and not set to arrive until next week?!

OMG, jazzturtle - SO MANY amazing yarns. Want! And natashafatale - that pink and black roving looks delish and I WANT IT.

I don't really have anything to share, but I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the yarn I made that thread about having issues with anyway, just because I can. The first thing I have ever even vaguely pretended to attempt to spin:

I did it! OK, so I did it incredibly badly, but at least I did it [grin]

I don't have any yarns to share this week, but I do have a few batts!  These were all made using hand cards.  I had hoped to get seven sets done this week (it's spring break for me), but I got my wisdom teeth out on Monday and I've been a little laid back this week.  Anyway, the purple set was hardest to photograph, surprisingly (to me at least!) and I didn't get a good picture of the sample yarn I spun.  Maybe I'll just have to reshoot it in a little bit and come back...So, here are the batts!

First up is Purple Passions, a mix of purple corriedales, black merino, and magenta glitz:

Next, we have Exotic Fiber Fantasy, a fantastic blend of mohair, bamboo, merino, alpaca, camel, yak, cashmere, angora (rabbit), bombyx silk, and soysilk:

Third is Honeybees in Spring, a blend of brown welsh and merino along with a mystery wool dyed golden with marigolds:

And last but not least, Swallowtail, a mix of alpaca, mohair, merino, and merino superwash:

I too only have 1 yarn to show. I've been working on the alterations for a wedding dress and not only does it eat my time, it eats creativity and brainpower. (My kung fu instructors are getting married!)
I got a batt from lapoli months ago in a fiber swap. I re carded half of it because I wanted some of it to be more blendy and have more sparkle! (not that the batt wasn't awesome, I just wanted the finished yarn to match another finished yarn.)

If you see the super sized version of this pict you can see the sparkles.
4 oz 186 yards.
This is going to be used to knit a dragon for my oldest kiddo. I'm so excited. I'm already most of the way through one dragon!

Knitting machines are tons of fun! My mum has three Wink

I really want a drum carder so I can stop drooling over all these amazing batts, and make some of my own! Maybe by the summer...

So this is my first fiber friday post (yay alliteration!) I always miss it, and I have so much more to post! But I'll save them for another day...

Falkland wool dyed with neon food coloring, plied with pink thread:

Grey skies. BFL singles

Thick 'n Thin singles from my two ugly batts

Falkland still on the bobbin. I plied it last night with some blue thread (couldn't find the green, and I'm impatient!)

my only bit of bad luck today is getting stuck at my boyfriends house all day without my spin-a-machine! haha
